Zhang Zhixin opposed the condemnation of Liu Shaoqi, the
president of the People’s Republic of China and second ranking
party official after Mao. He was accused of being the leader of a “counter
revolutionary, anti-Party, anti-proletarian” faction opposed to
Mao’s Cultural Revolutionary faction. |
